Tameside's Stamford Park wins another national award

P Casey (Land Reclamation) the company which carried out the £4 million regeneration of Stamford Park has won a British Association of Landscape Industries award for it's work on the Heritage Lottery funded development. The Project won the best restoration and regeneration award.

The park has undergone a complete makeover with the Victorian elements restored to their original condition and modern facilities have been built such as the Highfield Pavilion (which has also won a RIBA design award). Terraces have been landscaped and the Woodland Dingle area has been transformed into a haven for wildlife.

Cllr.Lynn Travis Tameside Executive Member for Neighbourhoods said "we are delighted that the project has received this award this is a fantastic amenity for the people of Tameside to enjoy. The current generations can enjoy Stamford Park in the same way previous generations have".
