Stalybridge Handmade Market returned once again to the beautiful old market hall in the town.  The market, which has now been running for over a year, has consistently attracted over 1000 visitors each time and it's clear that the market is becoming a regular shopping trip for some customers.

Reuben's Retreat are the nominated charity this year and so far this year over £1200 has been donated from the 50p admission fee.  "It makes us smile when we send off the donation every month as we absolutely love this charity!". As usual included in the admission fee was was a prize draw to win a handmade hamper and one lucky lady from Carbrook was the chosen winner this month.

The theme for this month's market was "strawberry fever" and it was great that so many of the 65 stalls took part including local cafe Sara Dip N Tea who were at the market selling fresh strawberrries and cream alongside their tasty mediterranean food.  The Dollar Bombers and Rachel Swanick entertained the crowds with live music throughout the day and it was great to have Tameside Radio back in the hall.

Stalybridge based events company MWL Events, who run the handmade markets, have recently been recognised for their achievements as finalists in the Pride of Tameside Awards and are also due to attend the prestigious E3 Awards in September as one of 3 businesses representing Tameside.  Katherine the owner of MWL Events said "we are absolutely thrilled that we've come so far in just over a year.  To be chosen as finalists in not just 1 but 2 awards is just amazing and we are very proud.  There are big plans on the horizon for MWL Events and we're working hard to promote the Handmade brand and to carry on showcasing local talent, there is so much around!"

The market will return to the Civic Hall on Saturday 19th July from 10am until 3pm.  If you'd like to contact MWL Events please email enquiries@mwlevents.co.uk or visit their website www.mwlevents.co.uk.
