Mossley firefighter's rescue mission to flood hit Bosnia


Dave Swallow commanding officer of BlueWatch in Hyde has been sent out to help out in flood hit Bosnia. Dave, who hails from Mossley is a volunteer with the Fire Services International Search and Rescue Team and is one of a six man team of Manchester firemen deployed in Bosnia to help out following the heaviest rainfall on record.

The fire crews had to deal with landslides, collapsed houses, and damaged roads. A state of emergency has been declared in most areas. Dave said " we don't want to just be there for the local community of Tameside we want to help internationally aswell. "
