8 year old Ian Roebuck has sung with the choir since the age of eight. He has lived in Mottram all his life and was baptised at Mottram Church.

The Royal School of Church Music has honoured Ian with a long service medal and he said that he " wanted to be part of the choir from an early age and was desperate to join but had to wait till I was eight to join. "

Ian has also been a secretary of the church council and a school governer for 30 years. Choirmaster John Brandreth honoured Ian for his longevity with the choir.
