The old wheelchair pictured here was one of many items dregged up from the Peak Forest Canal in Hyde as part of "Operation Starburst" organised by the Inland Waterways association to clean up the canals of Greater Manchester. The work involves volunteers working in five different locations based at a central meeting point at Portland Basin. The work is being carried out on the 19th and 20th of October as part of the organisations push to clear canal beds and restore inland waterways.
