The residents of Tameside and Glossop will be able to have their say in a question time style debate at Hyde Clarendon College on thursday September 11th between 7pm and 8.30 pm. a panel of experts will be available to take questions.
Panellists will include:
Steven Pleasant, Chief Executive of Tameside Metropolitan Bough Council
Dr Alan Dow, the Chair of Tameside and Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) who has worked as a GP for nearly 20 years in Gamesley, Glossop
Dr Richard Bircher, a Stalybridge GP and Lead for Urgent Care at Tameside and Glossop CCG
Karen James, Chief Executive, Tameside Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to joining Tameside Hospital as Interim Chief Executive, Karen was Chief Operating Officer at the University of South Manchester, Foundation Trust where she had been working since 2009. Karen began her NHS career as a nurse and worked in a number of general and service improvement management roles in Greater Manchester.
Peter Denton, Manager of Healthwatch Tameside. Healthwatch is the local consumer champion for health and care – their role is to help the voice of patients and the public to be heard by decision makers.
Healthier Together aims to reduce variation in standards of care across Greater Manchester, so that all patients can access and receive excellent health care.
Dr Dow said: “The Healthier Together “Question Time” events are an opportunity for people to take part in a lively, open and transparent discussion about proposals to change health services in Greater Manchester."
