Tameside Business Awards 2013
Caesar's Palace came to Tameside on Friday 17 May 2013, when the success of local businesses was toasted at a night of Las Vegas-style glitz and glamour.
Guests at the Pride of Tameside Business Awards played casino games to raise money for chosen charity Reuben's Retreat before being entertained by show girls and tribute act Shades of Elvis.
Awards chair Jayne Broddle opened the evening by stressing the need to defy the pessimists by highlighting the many success stories Tameside can boast.
She told the packed Jubilee Hall, Dukinfield: “With the economy still faltering and many businesses continuing to tighten their belts I have been delighted by the response that we have received from the local business community once again this year.
“These awards are organised by Tameside businesses for Tameside businesses. At a time when the media often seem to be filled with stories of economic doom and gloom these awards are our chance to showcase and celebrate some of the strength, innovation and business successes from around our borough.”
Jayne also thanked the many sponsors, adding: “This evening has only been made possible thanks to generous sponsorship and donations from local businesses and other organisations and companies that provide a service to Tameside.
“We are very grateful to all the companies which have given their support. The Pride of Tameside Business Awards would have not been possible without their generous help. All the sponsorship money goes into making the awards a suitably prestigious, enjoyable and successful event.
“Wherever and whenever possible the money is put back into our local economy as we use local suppliers and services as much as we can.”
Tim Craig, managing director of Business of the Year winners Bathrooms by Timothy Michael, said: “It was an amazing evening and we are honoured to have won the Business of the Year award, being recognised for our fantastic customer service, outstanding growth, and for embracing social media. Ever since we announced the win on our Facebook page we have been inundated with good wishes.
“The current market conditions are tough and the entire team are working even harder than ever, but the fact that more than 75 per cent of our work comes from recommendations helps us to stay continually busy, I am so proud of all of my team.”
The ceremony raised £3,650 for the Reuben's Retreat charity through money raised during the evening. To find out more, see the Charity Donation page.
