John Fashanu the former England International Footballer, Gladiator and now TV presenter, flew over from Nigeria and dropped in to surprise youngsters at Oakdale Special School in DUKINFIELD.
After meeting Droylsden mum Cheryl Hughes who works for the Charity Hearts and Minds John decided to get involved. Cheryl launched the" Give Bobby a Voice" campaign to help her six year old son Bobby who hadnt spoken for 3 years.
John who also has a teenage son with learning difficulties said "I was so impressed at the way Cheryl spoke". "As soon as I saw what heart and minds do I wanted to be part of it". John presented the children with Ipads following an appeal for old Mobile phones.
Through the charity, handsets can be exchanged for the tablets with special communication software.
Since getting his Ipad Bobby can now say a few words.
