Rachael Hadley, from Dukinfield, says she wants to inspire other larger women after reaching the final of national competition.
The mum-of-three is hoping to win the beauty title and inspire people from all walks of life to follow their dreams
Rachael Hadley is a size 22 and in the final of Ms British Beauty Curve 2016, a pageant for 'plus-size' women.
She will be representing the north west against eight other women for the title in Brighton on July 30 and hopes to encourage women to pursue their dreams and conquer their fears.
She said: “I’m doing this for all the women, men and children who think they don’t have the right to follow their dreams."
“Everyone is worthy - no one should be made to feel bad for anything.”
Rachael has had her fair share of struggles before becoming comfortable with her new-found confidence.
She experienced weight problems as a result of spondylosis that caused six slipped discs, two in the top, middle and bottom of her spinal column, after going to the gym in 2009.
She said she was unable to move for three to four weeks and had severe headaches.
She also suffered from Chiari malformation, causing her brain to be pushed down her spinal column and stopping fluid travelling to the brain.
Rachael said: “I was on a load of medication, some days I struggled to get by."
