Tameside Council freezes council tax for 2014/15

At It's annual budget meeting Tameside Council announced that it would be freezing it's council tax for 2014/15. At the meeting it was also announced that Dawson lane is to be installed as the new Mayor of Tameside in May.

There was also a discussion on how to help businesses in the area many councillors were concerned that parking charges are having an adverse affect on local traders. Cllr. Ged Cooney was involved in a lively debate with Conservative Councillors  regarding the state of Tameside's schools.

All in all  it was good news for Tameside's residents with no increase in the level of Council tax.
