Warehouse operative Gareth Stone from Ashton took a picture of a shooting star as he sat in his garden in Ashton at around 5.45am in the morning.
Gareth said “I was sat in the garden and I just spotted it as the skies were really clear I thought it was a plane at first but then as it carried on travelling I saw it was leaving no trail behind it so it couldn’t have been.
“I then remembered reading that there would be meteor showers visible this week.
“It was pretty spectacular - really vivid and bright".
