From 17 – 23 October, it's Get Online Week, which means there are plenty of opportunities for residents to get involved with lots of great events to help make the most of the internet and find ways to boost their digital skills.

Tameside Libraries are running a series of free events at Ashton Library where residents, can drop in to try one thing. With a chance to try anything from learning how to use a new device, to playing an online game, using a banking app or getting help to find a job or complete an application. The events are informal and aim to offer a fun way to test out tech and devices and try out something new whether you are a complete novice or just want a quick course to build your confidence.

There are also lots of other ways that individuals, community groups and businesses can support Get Online Week by donating devices and unused technology, getting involved in National Databanks or just volunteering their time and knowledge to help other people to develop their online skills.
