Ashton Farmers’ market has entered the national Farm Shop & Deli Awards 2016 and locals are being urged to vote online to support the market.

The awards, run with founding partner Olives Et Al, recognise the very best standards in specialist retail and celebrate the highest levels of service, product knowledge, initiative, innovation and community involvement.

Ashton Farmers’ Market is held on the last Sunday of every month and attracts visitors from across the region and has many stalls selling quality seasonal and regional produce and beautiful local crafts. It also hosts a number of family activities and interactive roadshows such as easter egg trails and Love Food Hate Waste cooking demonstrations.

Tameside Councils John Taylor, who is responsible for the markets said,

“This is great opportunity for shoppers and visitors to support hardworking local traders by telling judges what they love about the market and helping to showcase it to others.”
