£1.3 million Youth Centre now open in Droylsden


A state of the art youth Community Centre is now open in Droylsden launching a new era for youth provision in the town.

The complex is on Lewis Road within Sunnybank Park. It comprises of a multi use room,wet and day changing facilities and disabled changing facilities. It also has a floodlit synthetic pitch and boundary fencing.

Cllr.Quinn said "Droylsden Youth Centre and Droyldsen Juniors have done a tremendous job for the area. Thousands of people have benifited frm their efforts including Nicky Butt who went on to play for Manchester United and England."

Most of the funding £850,000 was supplied by the Football Foundation with Tameside Council contributing £276,000 with Fairshare Droylsden.
