Tameside Rugby latest November 9th


Performance of the day from Tameside's Rugby teams goes to Ashton Rugby Club who beat Oldham emphatically in the North lancs League division one.

Aldwinians entertained Eccles in the North Lancs and Cumbria League sharing the spoils in the first half going into the break 13-13 after a spirited first half. In the sceond half the audenshaw side fell away as Eccles took control of the game with the final score Aldwinians 16 Eccles 36.Andy Coxhill scored three penalties and one conversion, the Aldwinians try was touched down by Andy Cummins.

The day belonged to Ashton Rugby Club who chalked up a fantastic victory beating local rivals Oldham 27-5. From the outset Ashton had the better of the exchanges scoring four tries through David Stanley, Gareth Blomley, Neil Pearson and Josh Paterson, who also converted twice and scored a penalty.

In the South Lancs and Cheshire League division 2 DUKINFIELD pushed Bowden all the way only losing by 2 points going down 15-17.
