Ashton Rugby Club had a brilliant win in the lanchashire Bowl semi-final beating North Lancs 2nd Division leaders North Manchester. They will be flying the flag for Tameside in their first ever County Final.
Ashton were well disciplined and defended strongly going in at half time with a 10-3 lead courtesy of a Ben Riley try and Tom Jackson's penalty and conversion. There was lots of pressure from the home side in the second half but Ashton weathered the storm with Danny Turton scoring Ashton's second try and Tom Jackson converted again. With no more scores in the game Ashton ran out 17-3 winners and celebrated getting to the final.
In the RFU Senior vase Competition DUKINFIELD lost 26-32 at home to Ormskirk in a close game.
