Tameside football round up Saturday 5th October


Hyde FC started well in their Skrill Premier clash at home to Braintree but went 1-0 down at half time.

In the second half they were restricted to long balls and went further behind when the visitors scored two more goals to make the final score 3-0 to Braintree.

Stalybridge Celtic lost 2-1 away at Oxford City,Warburton scoring for Celtic in the Evostick Premier. Droylsden lost their 10th game of the season at home to Matlock town losing 4-1.

To complete a miserable day for four of Tameside's teams Ashton united went down 2-1 away to Rushall Olympic.

However Curzon Ashton won 3-1 away in the FA Trophy at Ossett Albion goals from Chris Rowney,Chris Young and Mark Bett. Mossley also won on teuesday night October 1st, beating Salford City 3-1 with goals from Marley, Carroll and Anderson

The Lillywhites now climb to 8th in the Evostick division One North.
