Tameside Football Round Up Saturday 17th August


Stalybridge Celtic went down 4-0 at home to Hednesford town in their

opening game of the Skrill North league.

Francino Francis opened the scoring for the visitors in the 13th minute

making it 1-0 at half time.

In the second half Elliott Durrell scored a hatrick for the visitors to make

the final score 4-0. Dan Crane the Hednesford goalkeeper had an outstanding

game denying Celtic on many occasions in the second half.

At Ewen Fields Hyde FC drew 2-2 with Hereford Utd. Lim Thomsett put Hyde into

a 2-1 lead but Hererford equalised before the end to make it 2-2 in the Skrill Premier


In the Evostick Premier Division Ashton United beat Grantham town 2-1 at Hurst Cross

and Curzon Ashton won 3-1 away at ramsbottom. Mossley lost 3-1 at home to kendal Town.
