Tameside football round up March 22nd

Sefton Gonzales (above) scores twice for Droylsden as they record a rare victory! Hyde Lose at home, Ashton United,  Curzon and Mossley are all victorious, Stalybridge were without a game, in a good day for the majority of Tameside's non league football teams.

Already relegated Hyde Fc suffered their 31st league defeat of the season going down 2-0 at home to Dartford at Ewen Fields in the Skrill Premier.

Ashton United won 2-1 away at Whitby Town with goals from Aaron Chambers and Martin Pilkington, the three points keeping them on track for a promotion place in the Evostick Premier. Bottom placed Droylsden recorded a rare victory beating Witton Albion 4-3 in a mud bath at The Butcher's Arms. The Bloods went into a 3-0 lead early on in the game but the second half was nail biting as Witton pulled back all three goals to level the score, fortunately Sefton Gonzales was at hand to score the winner. Droylsden goalscorers were Domaine Rouse, Sam Freakes and Sefton Gonzales (2).

In the Evostick North Curzon bagged another three points at the Tameside stadium beating Ossett Albion 2-0 with goals from Ryan Brooke and Simon Woodford. Curzon need just ten points from the next eight games to become champions. Mossley beat Harrogate railway 2-0 at home in the same division.
