Tameside Football Round up December 7th


With Hyde FC's match at Welling postponed and Curzon playing on tuesday night it was up to Stalybridge Celtic, Droylsden, Ashton United and Mossley to fly the flag for Tameside.

Stalybridge Celtic pictured above in their away kit had a great win away at Histon coming away as 4-1 winners with goals from Sean McConville, Phil Marsh, Adam Pepper and an own goal by Histon's Jay Dowie continuing the recent run of good form in the Skrill Conference North.

In the Evo-stick Northern Premier Droylsden lost at home 3-2 to Stockbridge Park Steels to stay rooted to the bottom of the table with only 2 points.Ashton United, however, had a good win in the same division winning 1-0 away on a bouncing and difficult pitch, the Ashton goal was scored by Gary Gee.

Mossley lost 6-5 away at Kendal Town in an eleven goal thriller in the Evostick Premier First division North in a close fought match with Kendal coming away with the points right at the end in an evenly fought contest. The Mossley goals came from Charlie Anderson (2), Corey Bennett, Richard Bennett, and Andrew Keogh.
