Tameside football round up December 21st


Hyde fc were defeated narrowly by Barnet after putting a lot of pressure on the Barnet goal.

After a quiet start to the game Hyde had some good chances, Danny Carlton heading wide and Scott Spencers excellent lob over the Barnet keeper narrowly missing the goal. In the end Hyde were undone by a late scrambled goal as Barnet ended the game 1-0 winners. The result leaves Hyde even more anchored at the bottom of the Skrill Premier with only 3 points.

In the Skrill North Stalybridge Celtic drew 3-3 at home to Boston at Bower Field in an entertaining game. Celtics goals were scored by Kristian Platt and Phil Marsh(2).

Ashton United (above) notched up their fourth successive victory in the Evostick Premier beating Witton albion 2-1 away courtesy of a late winner from Joe O'Neill. Jason Gorton scored earllier in ther game for the Robins.

In the Evostick First Division North Curzon continued their great form beating Lancaster City 1-0 courtesy of a 38th minute goal from Matthew Warburton. Mossley unfortunately went down 3-0 way at Farsley FC.
