A busy day for Tameside football with Curzon Ashton crowned champions Of the Evostick First Division North (see our report elsewhere on the website)  and Ashton United getting 3 more valuable promotion play off points.

Already relrgated Hyde Fc and Droylsden both lost together with Stalybridge Celtic. Mossley had a fine win away at Burscough.

Hyde Fc lost 7-2 away at high flying Cambridge United in the Skrill Premier, with Andy Pugh scoring 4 goals for Cambridge. The home side were in control from start to finish, Adam Thurston and David poole scored for the Tigers.

Stalybridge Celtic lost 1-0 away at Boston in the Skrill North keeping Celtic hovering just above the relegation zone.

In the Evostick Northern premier League Ashton united came away from Stafford with a hard fought 2-1 win courtesy of goals from Chris Bageley and Dale Johnson. The Robins are edging ever closer to a promotion play off place. Droylsden lost 3-0 away at Stamford.

In the Evostick First  Division North Curzon were crowned champions (see our Your Tameside report on the website) and Mossley beat Burscough 3-0 away with 2 goals from Wayne Welbeck and a goal from Tom Dean.
