Tameside football round up 26th April


The last day of the league season saw Champions Luton bring over 2,000 fans (pictured above) to Ewen Fields in the Skrill Conference.

Despite being the underdogs in the match Hyde FC put up a battling performance  and were unlucky to lose 1-0.

Stalybridge Celtic ended the season in style beating Workington 2-0 at Bower Fields in the Skrill North with goals from Paul Ennis and Sean McConville.

Ashton United fielded a weakened team in their Evostick Premier final game as they rested players for the promotion play offs. Their opponents Witton Albion took full advantage and beat Ashton 4- 1 at Hurst Cross. Relegated Droylsden ended their "annus horriblis" season on a high beating Rushall Olympics 1-0.

In the Evostick First Division North Curzon lost 1-0 away to Lancaster and Mossley ended the seasaon with a 1-0 victory over Farsley.
