Hyde Running legend Ron Hill stars in film about his life

Seventy five year old running legend Ron Hill who competed in Olympic Marathons at the 1964 Tokoyo olympics and 1972 Munich Olympics aswell as winning gold in the European Championships in 1969 and the Commonwealth games in 1970 is starring in a film about his life.

James Copson a budding young filmaker from Stalybridge approached Ron about making a documentary about his life as James felt his achievements weren't publiciesd enough.Ron agreed to the documentary and filming started during a race to celebrate his 75th birthday. When the filming is completed it is hoped that the documentary will be taken up by one of the television companies.

Ron has been awarded with an MBE for his services to athletics and runs everyday, he can often be spotted on his favourite run up to the top of Werneth Low.
