Robins cruise into 3rd qualifying round of the FA Cup

Ashton United reached the 3rd Qualifying Round of the FA Cup following an emphatic 5 - 0 victory over Gorton side Abbey Hey at the Abbey Stadium.
 
After just 4 minutes Martin Pilkington found space and crossed to the unmarked Dale Johnson who headed the ballinto the Abbey Hey net. Then with 5 minutes of the first half remaining Cavell Coo’s left wing cross rebounded for Johnson to fire home his second from close range. 
 
The Robins again began to dominate the possession after the break and with 20 minutes left Ashton’s third goal arrived courtesy of Matty Chadwick, his cross enabled Aaron Burns to head home to make it 3-0. Joel Melia made it four with a spectacular finish and Dale Johnson completed his hatrick from the penalty spot with just 2 minutes to go.
