Hyde Unted's Academy graduate Sam Fitton’s second goal in consecutive games led the Tigers to a surprise 1-0 victory over Salford City at Moor Lane. The match saw Hyde United pick up their second away win this season.
The game was played at a fast pace with Salford’s best chance of the first half fell to Gary Stopforth just on the half-hour mark. A cross from Dom Smalley, who caused problems all day down the flanks, was nodded over from close range from the Salford defender. The Tigers also had two early penalty shouts.
The goal came after a cross from a quick break by Hyde with the ball falling to the feet of Sam Fritton who tucked the ball nicely into the net.
The second half started saw a lot of Salford pressure with them hammering crosses into the box but despite all their possession they could not turn their advantage into goals. The Tigers weathered the storm and Referee Dean Watson eventually blew for full time and the three points were heading back to Ewen Fields.
