It was celebrations all round for Tameside College Football team and their manager, Luke Podmore, as they won the North West Colleges Central Conference League.
Luke Podmore, Student Activity Leader for Tameside College took on the role of managing Tameside College Football team and he has a passion for Football Management, Luke is also the Manager for Preston North End Women’s FC, who have also recently won the FA Women’s Premier League Plate Competition.
This is the second time in three years that Tameside College have won the North West Colleges Central Conference and only finished runners up last year after falling at the last hurdle. This season the College team have played 11 games and won all 11, finishing the season with a perfect record. This season the College team have scored a total of 49 goals and conceded only seven goals.
The team comprises of students from a variety of areas across the college which shows the talent Tameside College have.
Luke Podmore commented; “I want to place on record a big well done and thank you again to all of the students who have played this year for the College. They have represented the College fantastically and achieved something very special. To win 11 games in the way that we did is phenomenal. We will now be moving on to a higher league next year and hope to challenge the students further.”
