Tameside Council’s cultural services team in association with Pendle Productions are organising Caring Kids in the Community Awards this christmas to recognise the efforts of young people who have made special efforts to help or inspire people.



Twenty youngsters will be guests of honour at the Thursday, December 4, performance of “Mother Goose” at Dukinfield Town Hall. They will get the full red-carpet treatment including a pre-show meet-and-greet, refreshments, a goody bag, a certificate, and the chance to meet the panto stars and other special guests.

Cllr Jackie Lane, Tameside Council’s assistant executive member for culture, heritage and tourism, said

“It might be a child who has shown great courage dealing with a serious illness or family upheaval. It might be a talented youngster who has excelled on sports field or the stage, or someone who has simply been a good neighbour or helped a charity.”
