A new open air market is to be launched at Tameside Hospital.
For the first time local market traders have been invited to set up stall outside the main hospital entrance to supply home grown fruit, vegetables, bread, cheese, preserves and other healthy produce in a trial market  organised in partnership with Tameside Council  that will run on the last Tuesday of every month starting on 30 June, it is hoped it will encourage people to eat better and support local businesses.

A spokesperson at Tameside Hospital said “We all have a greater understanding of the important role fresh and nutritious food can play in our health, and I believe we have a duty of care at Tameside Hospital to offer every opportunity to contribute to the long term development of healthy eating habits. This partnership with Tameside Council will help us do that."
