Foster Care fortnight runs from the 1st to the 14th of June, during which time the Tameside Fostering Service will be highlighting the benefits of fostering for both carers and children.

Tameside children and young people need a safe and stable base where they can maximise their potential and benefit from a role model to give them guidance, understanding, love and attention. The fostering team  have a number of children who have had a difficult start to life who now need carers who can help them settle and mature.

Research shows that successfully placing children in a supportive, loving and stable home is by far the best possible long term outcome for children in care. The team is keen to hear from people of all ages and backgrounds about what being a carer entails. In return, the team will provide a smooth and speedy assessment and support.

People from all backgrounds make great carers, regardless of age, marital status, sexuality, gender, race or religion and all foster carers receive an attractive allowance, support and ongoing training

There will be an information stall on Saturday 6th June at Ashton Market and on Saturday 27th June at Armed Forces Day at Victoria Park in Denton, between 1 and 4pm.

If you want to find out more about fostering  call Tameside Fostering Service on 0161 342 3400.
