Nine year old Kayti in sponsored headshave in aid of children's charity at Aldwinian's Rugby club

Nine year old Tameside youngster Kayti Calderbank is looking for support for her sponsored headshave in aid of Children's Cancer Research charity Kidscan at Aldwinians Rugby Club on Sunday 20th July.

The Charity Fun day starts at 12pm on Sunday and the sponsored headshave is at 3 'o' clock.

Kayti came up with the idea for a sponsored headshave whilst on holiday last year when she had a little bit of her head shaved. She then asked her mum if she could shave the rest to which her mum replied "definetly not". Kayti then asked her mum if she could have a headshave in aid of poorly children when they have cancer. After much deliberation Kayti's mum and dad agreed and then contacted local children's charity Kidscan and told them of Kayti's intentions to raise funds for them.

What started off as a sponsored head shave then escalated into a funday with craftstalls, tombolas raffles a penalty shoot out and other activities donated by a local entertainments company. There will also be ice cream and catering vans aswell as police and fire crews in attendance. Over 3,000 flyers have also been given out which have been donated by two local printing company's.

Kayti will be having her head shaved at 3'0'clock by Natalie Dale of Salon 25 in Clayton. Aswell as Kidscan some of the proceeds from the day will also be given to the family of a 16 year old boy who broke his neck whilst playing for Littleborough Rugby Club. Everyone is welcome to come down on Sunday and have a funday all in a good cause!
