Benchmark Building Supplies Ltd is hosting a glow in the dark golf event at Ashton-under-Lyne Golf Club in aid of Tameside 4 Good.

The Benchmark Night Golf event will tee-off at 6.30pm on Thursday 26th March, featuring an individual stableford competition and include a potato pie supper and entertainment. There will be prizes for the top three places, plus closest to the pin.

The five hole night golf tournament is great for people who find it hard to fit their golfing time into their busy schedule.

Fairways are lit like runways, flags, greens, tees, bunkers and hazards are also lit up. The golf balls are approved size and weight and will perform to about 90% of a normal golf ball. They contain 2 LED lights which illuminate when you hit them so you can see the whole flight of the ball through the air and stay alight for eight minutes after each shot. Each player is given a different coloured ball.

Phill G Brown, managing director at Benchmark Building Supplies Ltd, commented: “We’re pleased to be able to sponsor a night golf event which will raise money for Tameside 4 Good. Tameside 4 Good introduced me to night golf at a Denton Golf Club event. It was great fun, looks spectacular and gives golfers a new way to experience the game.”

Amy Watson, Tameside 4 Good development worker, added: “We are delighted to have Benchmark organise a night golf event in aid of Tameside 4 Good.

“Business support for our charity initiative is vital to improving lives in Tameside. This shows the extent to which Benchmark believes in celebrating Tameside and giving back to local good causes.”

The night event costs £26 per head or £104 for a four ball, to book a place please contact Colin Boyle, head professional at Ashton-under-Lyne Golf Club, on 0161 330 1537 Option 2 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Every penny donated to Tameside 4 Good funds activities for disadvantaged young people, aged 5 – 25, and Tameside community group projects that alleviate poverty, improve health and wellbeing, and develop skills, education and employment in Tameside.
