Six months after opening its doors, Dogs’ Trust Manchester in Denton has found new homes for 600 dogs. Three-year-old Shar-Pei, Ronnie, was the 600th dog to be rehomed, leaving the centre with Leone and Alan McDermott.
Leone said: “We both wanted a rescue dog and spotted Ronnie on the Dogs Trust website. We watched his video, read all about him and came to see him as soon as we could.
He’s so lovely. He has a great temperament, understands commands such as sit and loves to play, so he’s our perfect companion.
“We are so excited to be taking him home.”
Dawn Bishop, Dogs’ Trust Manchester Rehoming Centre manager, said: “We are delighted Leone and Alan have fallen in love with Ronnie.
“Since opening we’ve welcomed more than 13,000 visitors to the centre – sometimes there are queues outside before we open.
“We have been overwhelmed with the support we’ve received and are delighted that 600 dogs have found their ideal homes.”
