Clarence Street Arcade is undergoing a complete transformation into a state of the art business centre thanks to a A £1m European Union redevelopment grant, together with matching investment from developers Jersey Street Properties Limited.
The new development will incorporate a glass atrium, conference facilities, meeting rooms, high speed broadband and high quality offices.
Clarence Arcade was built in 1894 and in it's heyday was on of the most prestigious shopping centres in the area. The new development will create new openings for local businesses and increase the footfall around the locality.
Jake Ezair, Managing Director of Jersey Street Properties, said "our substantial investment in transforming this beautiful building reflects our confidence in the huge potential of Ashton-Under-Lyne". Work starts next year on the buildings transformation.
