"The Textiles Teashop Roadshow" is a series of six drop-in events taking place across Tameside, Oldham, Bury, Bolton and Rochdale and throughout Greater Manchester during June and July
If you are a skilled textiles worker or would you like to be you can learn to operate an industrial sewing machine, weave cloth, produce a garment pattern or use specialised cutting equipment. If you're looking to lead your own team, supervise or manage, the industry is looking to create 20,000 jobs in the UK, many of which are in Greater Manchester with flexible employment contracts and fantastic career opportunities.
You can drop by for a chat with experts and employers who will be ready and waiting to hear about your skills and to talk about textiles jobs in your local area. You can even show off your skills or learn some new ones on one of our industrial machines and enjoy some cake and a cup of tea whilst discussing the opportunities available to you.
The campaign is being launched by Coronation Street actresses Jennie McAlpine and Sair Khan, whose characters work in the soap’s Underworld underwear factory.
