Droylsden Academy students embark on first leg of Duke of Edinburgh Award

Droylsden Academy Students taking the Duke of Edinburgh Award recently completed their practice walk in the Peak District.
The walk tested their stamina and navigational skills. They completed the Monsal Trail from Buxton to Bakewell on the first day, set up camp and walked on from the campsite to Chatsworth House the following day.
 
The students will complete their Award with after their final assessed walk, which is taking place on the weekend of 26th to 28th of June.
The group will revisit the Peak District but this time will be walking from Edale, Ladybower reservoir, and then returning over the moors and hills, taking in the views from Mam Tor.
