Clarendon Sixth Form College's new location, its new £10m building in Ashton Town Centre,
close to Ashton’s transport hub from September 2015, will allow more
students  to access the high performing A-Level and Creative Industries College.

The new four-story, 4500 square metre building will house a 200 seat theatre, state-of-the-art
laboratories, dance studios, study areas and digital, media and arts spaces. Its close proximity to
the superfast broadband linked to MediaCityUK will enable the College to prepare its students to
contribute fully to Greater Manchester's ambitions to be a world centre for digital industries.
The main contractors Kier attended the topping out ceremony alongside council leaders who watched as Site
Manager Gareth Leek and Councillor Peter Robinson dug with the commemorative silver spades,
engraved with the Contractor’s watermark, into the soil at the head of the new building
construction site.
Principal of Tameside College Peter Ryder focused on the positive impact the new building will
have on all current and future students in Tameside, ‘‘We are doing this for the young people of
Tameside who all deserve to be able to access high quality education provision in our borough.
Education gives our young people opportunity and these new facilities allow us to give them an
exceptional learning experience in a state-of-the-art facility. ’’
