RAF band mark Tameside's First World war Centenerary events

The Band Of The Royal Airforce college will be appearing at Albion Church,Stamford street East, Ashton-Under-Lyne on Friday November 21st.

They are one of Britain's top military musical ensembles and they are appearing as part of Tameside's events to mark the centenary of World War 1.

They were originally established in 1920 and have played at major state events including the funeral of King George V1 in 1952, the Queen's coronation in 1953 and more recently at the Queen's jubilee.

Jackie Lane, Tameside Council's assistant executive member of culture said

" to have them here in November, the month of rememberance, and to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the First world war will be something special"

Tickets will be avbailable very soon priced at £5. They will be available on Tameside Borough Council's website www.tameside.gov.uk/culture.

The concert starts at 7.30 pm on Friday November 21st.
