Tameside jobseekers are being offered free creative digital training worth over £1,000.The free course will cover the latest creative software plus one-to-one mentoring including CV writing and business planning.
Lasting eight weeks, the Click training programme trailblazes the launch of a new arts and learning centre for Mossley, which will fully open this summer.
Participants will train in essential creative software including Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator in the centre’s brand new Apple Mac suite.
No previous experience is required, but applicants must be able to prove they are 19+ years of age and are either not working, or working fewer than eight hours a week.
Holly Prest from Global Grooves, the charity managing the course, said: “We are running these free sessions to help Tameside jobseekers make their goals a reality and to help them to stand out to potential employers.
“Skills such as Photoshop and Illustrator are useful in so many industries, including web developing, graphic design, advertising, marketing, fashion, video games, photography and multimedia journalism.
“Fun to work in, it is understandably hard to get a break in these creative industries and hands-on experience with the latest software will stand a jobseeker in good stead.”
She added: “There will be lots of volunteering, artistic and even employment opportunities within the new centre when it opens this summer. This course provides a unique chance for anyone who wants to be creative, develop a set of brand new skills, open new doors and meet new people.”
The course starts on Wednesday 25 March and takes place at Vale Mill, off Micklehurst Road, Mossley. Participants can attend a two hour session either in the morning or the afternoon.
