Tomasz and Ratree Lisiecki from Denton are trying to adopt their orphaned niece Pichamon from Thailand.Ratree's sister died in 2007 of meningitis followed by Pichamon's dad, who died last November leaving the youngster with no mother or father. The couple think the best place for the greiving youngster is with her auntie, her uncle and her cousins, however Thai law prevents people taking orphans out of the country even for a short visit to see relatives and she has to remain in Bangkok until she is formally adopted.
Tomasz said" even though it's a family adoption it's still classed as an inter-country adoption and we will have to pay for everything. Although both Tomasz and his wife both work they have two children of their own they are paying for Pichamon's living and education in Thailand and are struggling to find the money for the adoption. To raise funds they are organising Thai themed fund raising evenings at St.Mary's and St.Michael's churches. www.pichamon.co.uk
