Denton travelled to Flowery Field for a Greene king Lancashire County league Fixture.
Flowery Field batted first and got off to a steady start, with Gee being the main aggressor before falling LBW to Taylor for 30. This brought the Pro Castelas to the crease to join Wharton and he looked to accelerate the scoring, hitting some good lusty blows to all parts of the ground. When Wharton fell for 40 in the 35th over, the score was on 126 and could have gone either way. Batting around the pro, wickets fell at regular intervals as they looked to hurry the score on, with Castelas finishing 83 not out in a total of 221 for 7. Taylor with 2-90 from his 25, and Halpin with 3-40 from his 10 at the close of the innings.
Denton got off to a quickfire reply with Mcilwaine and Vosloo, before both fell with the score in the 40s. This brought Garde and Saleem together and the pair steadied the ship before putting away the bad ball, and contributed a partnership of 102, before both fell in quick succession, Saleem for 61 and then Garde for 35. When Taylor then ran himself out, Denton were 5 down and still required 45 to win off 15 overs. However Halpin showed maturity for his 31 not out, and ably supported by Hawley, they managed to finish the game with 6 overs remaining.
