COACHES, parents and volunteers are invited to a free training event to help protect the welfare of children playing sport.
The multi-agency It’s Not Okay campaign, supported by the Council, is planning a week of action from 19 June to bring the sporting community of Greater Manchester together to raise awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE).
As part of the week, a free ‘Safeguarding & CSE in Sport’ event will be held at Curzon Ashton FC, Richmond St, Ashton, OL7 9HG, on Wednesday 21 June 6-8pm with speakers, information stands and networking opportunities.
The evening will focus on safeguarding policies, early intervention, DBS checks and fundamental safeguards that should be put in place by any organisation working with children in sport. There will also be guidance on how to spot the signs of Child Sexual Exploitation and how to report it.
Anyone involved in supporting children to play sport – from clubs, managers and coaches to volunteers and parents – are strongly encouraged to attend the event.
